About this task

It might happen that you have created a project, started to work on the project files and then you receive an updated source file with some changes from your customer. Trados Studio can import the updated source file, apply all currently performed work, and replace the outdated version in the project files list. All of this is done automatically behind the scenes using batch tasks and PerfectMatch.

Procedure

1. Go to the Files view and right-click the file you want to update in the project files list.
2. In the context menu, select Update file.
3. In the Add files dialog, browse for the updated file and select Open.

Results

When you reopen the file, you will notice that the source was updated with new or changed segments, but the previously made translations are also present.
