This is the guide about Adding TMs to projects in SDL Studio Trados 2019, that help you to use SDL Studio Trados 2019 easier.
You can add TMs to existing projects if you need a more extended range of resources.
Procedure
1. Go to the Projects view and select the project.
2. Go to the Home tab, and select Project Settings from the Ribbon.
3. To add TMs, select All Language Pairs > Translation Memory and Automated Translation.
Note: If you want to use a TM, for a specific language pair, select [source language] – [target language] > Translation Memory and Automated Translation. For example, suppose you add a multilingual TM at the All Language Pairs level that contains English to German and English to French language pairs. However, you do not want to use this TM for English to French, but instead want to select another TM. To do that, select the TM that you want to use at the individual language pair setting instead of the All Language Pairs level.
4. Select:
- Use File-based Translation Memory, and browse for your *sdltm file.
- Use Server-based Translation Memory, and then enter server credentials and select the TM.
5. To specify TM settings, go to the navigation on the left of the page, expand either the All Language Pairs tree (for main translation memories) or [source language] – [target language] tree (for specific project TMs), and configure the following pages:
- Search – Specify the options which manage the search: match values, upLIFT results or concordance results.
- Penalties – Specify the options which manage how penalties are applied.
- Filters – Specify how filter penalties are applied to non-matching TUs.
- Update – Specify field values for TUs.
- Language Resources – Specify any language resources which apply when TMs are not specified.
- Match Repair – Specify whether you want to get repaired matches during translation or when running batch tasks.
6. Configure other project settings if necessary, and then select OK.
