Report descriptions in SDL Studio Trados 2019

This is the guide about Report descriptions in SDL Studio Trados 2019, that help you to use SDL Studio Trados 2019 easier.

The table below describes each report.

Report Description
Analyze Files This report provides details about the number and type of translation memory (TM) matches found for your project files. The report lists PerfectMatches, Context matches, Repetitions, Cross-file repetitions, 100% matches, Fuzzy matches and non-translated items. If you chose to report locked segments as a separate category when you configured the Analyze Files settings, the report also includes the Locked category. This groups together all the manually locked segments, the PerfectMatches and the locked 100% and Context matches (no longer listed under their own categories). This information can help you scope the time needed to translate the files.

For character-based languages like Chinese or Japanese, the number of characters is counted, not the words.

See the Analyze Files report topic for a more detailed description of some of the data in this report.

Note: If you generated this report by running the Analyze Only task sequence during project creation, any PerfectMatches reported on are pre-existing matches from bilingual files from SDL Trados 2007 (TTX Files) and SDLX (ITD Files). To report on new PerfectMatches generated in Studio, add the Apply PerfectMatch task to the Analyze Only task sequence or run the Prepare or Prepare without Project TM task sequences instead.

Apply PerfectMatch This report provides details about the number of segments transferred by the Apply PerfectMatch task from the target language files in the previous bilingual files that you added to your project.
Pre-translate Files This report provides details about the initial status of the translations in your project. It displays any matches already found so that you can get an idea of how much work is involved before you begin.

For character-based languages like Chinese or Japanese, the number of characters is counted, not the words.

Translation Count This report provides details about the status of the translations in one or more files. For example, the status may be Translated or Translation Approved. This is useful if you want to view the progress of the translation project.
Update Main Translation Memories This report displays the results of updating your TMs by performing the Update Main Translation Memories task.
Update Project Translation Memories This report displays the results of updating your TMs by performing the Update Project Translation Memories task.
Verify Files This report displays the results of performing the Verify Files task on project files. For each file that produced an error, warning or information message, all of the messages are listed below the file name. If present, the source and target segments where the message occurred are indicated next to each item.

You can select a file name link to open the file in the Editor view.

Word Count This report counts the total of segments, words, characters and recognized tokens in one or more files.
Translation Quality Assessment This report analyzes the translation quality assessment (TQA) items available in the selected files against the metrics defined in the project’s TQA configuration. The report details all the segments that contain TQA items. Use this report to compare the original translation to the revised translation that includes the TQA changes.

You can also check here if the translated document passed the TQA check, according to the specified Pass/Fail threshold and according to the reviewer’s final evaluation. Reviewers do a final evaluation on a

TQA files can be opened for review or sign-off by going to the Home tab and selecting Complete Review or Complete Sign-off. During the final evaluation reviewers can override the Pass/Fail result that SDL Trados Studio calculated automatically according to the metrics defined in the project’s TQA configuration.

Work in progress (WIP) This report gives an overview of the current status of a project. You are able to see what work has been done for each confirmation level and what remains to be done. You can set up the report workflow on the WIP Report settings page.
