This is the guide about Adding new target languages and resources in SDL Studio Trados 2019, that help you to use SDL Studio Trados 2019 easier.
You can add new languages into which to translate your project files. You can then select translation memories (TMs), automated translation providers (MT – machine translation), termbases and AutoSuggest dictionaries for those languages.
Procedure
- Go to the Projects view and select the project.
- Go to the Home tab, and select Project Settings from the Ribbon.
- Select Language Pairs from the navigation tree. The list of language pairs that currently exist for the project appear in the navigation tree below Language Pairs.
Note: The project source language is displayed in the Source Language box on the right. This selection cannot be changed. - From the list of target languages in the Available box in the right hand pane, select the target language to be added to the project, and select Add. Continue selecting target languages until the list is complete.
- Select OK.
- In the Question dialog:
Select Yes to prepare the files for translation. This will convert the files to the *.sdlxliff bilingual format. The Batch Processing wizard is displayed. Go to Step 7 below.
Select No but you will not be able to translate the files in SDL Trados Studio. - Select Next. The Files page of the wizard is displayed. A list of the project files is displayed. A target language version of each of these files will be created.
- Select Next. The Settings page is displayed. Select any additional resources for the target language:
- Select Language Pairs > All Language Pairs > Translation Memory and Automated Translation from the navigation tree to select any translation memories and automated translation servers.
- Select Language Pairs > All Language Pairs > Termbases from the navigation tree to select any termbases.
- Select [ Source Language Name – Target Language Name ] > AutoSuggest Dictionaries from the navigation tree to select any AutoSuggest dictionaries.
9. Select Finish to run the selected batch tasks.
10. Once all tasks are complete, select Close to exit the wizard.
Results
Below the project folder there is now a new folder for each of the new target languages. In these folders are *.sdlxliff files which have been pre-translated and are ready for distributing to translators.
